Casino Night
On Friday, November 30th, the Academy of Mount St. Ursula hosted its first-ever Casino Night in the school convent. Over 100 people attended the event including alumnae, friends, faculty and parents. Attendees played Black Jack, Texas Hold'em, and Roulette, just to name a few, in hopes of winning enough tickets for the Chinese Auction. The auction boasted high-end prizes all donated by alumnae and friends of the school. Winners took home a week stay at a Naples condo, Ranger tickets, Yankee tickets, iPod with iTunes gift card, 3-night romantic get-away to Sagamore at Lake George and much more.
The event was a complete success raising more than $10,000, which will help to provide support to Mount St. Ursula's Annual Fund. "In order to keep the school affordable to families, Mount St. Ursula must raise one and a half million dollars from alumnae and friends this year to meet its budget," stated the school President, Jane Martínez Dowling. "Events like Casino Night help to raise money for the school, and bring together the Mount St. Ursula community."
