Young Alumnae Brunch (2004 - 2007)
About 30 alumnae from the classes of 2004 to 2007 came back in spite of the freezing weather to see old friends and catch up with former teachers. The class of 2007 had the largest turn out with 15 alumnae returning.
The young women also had the opportunity to meet fellow alumna Kerri Gould Reynolds '86. Kerri who is Group Head, Global Staffing at MasterCard Worldwide, took some time out of her busy schedule to meet and greet her fellow MSU sisters. She told her story of how an Ursuline education helped her to become the first person in her family to graduate from college and succeed in business. Kerri also shared great advice on how to make the most of the college experience and prepare for career and life.
In summary this is what she shared:
Advice #1: Time management. On average college students spend 15 hours a week in classes. The average work week is 40 hours. That means there are 25 hours a week that should be spent on homework and studying. Which leaves you with 128 hours of free time.
Advice #2: Find a mentor. Someone who will honestly guide you and tell you what you don't want to hear.
Advice #3: Take some kind of finance course. This will help you understand how you can add value to the bottom line of any organization.
