General Information
To participate in any after school MSU athletic program, a student must submit to the coach, before tryouts each year:
1. A doctor's note, stating that the student has been examined and is physically able to participate in that particular activity for the specified school year.
2. Parental permission to participate, specifying the sport and the school year.
3. All students are enrolled in a School Accident Insurance Plan. This plan insures students during all school activities, in or out of school. Additional coverage for a 24-hour basis may be purchased on request. Students will bring application forms home.
Transportation to and from the games is sometimes provided by rental bus/vans/taxis. Mass transit is also used. Students may never ride in a staff member's car. Team members may be suspended from teams for academic or behavioral reasons.
Beyond the Game
Every year the Athletic Association hosts a faculty/student volleyball or basketball game - usually in the Spring. At the end of the year, the Athletic Association honors its athletes with a sports banquet. Teams and individuals are recognized for their accomplishments and hard work.
