MSU Blood Drive

On Friday, November 2nd, the Academy of Mount St. Ursula, in collaboration with the New York Blood Center, hosted its very own blood drive in the school auditorium. Qualified students, faculty and parents signed up to donate. In total the school donated 36 pints of blood which has the potential to save up to 180 lives. "There is currently a shortage in blood and platelets for the New York City area and we hope that our donation today will make a difference," noted the school President, Jane Martínez Dowling.

Most of the students were first time donors. "I am so glad I was able to give blood. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and I look forward to donating again," stated Ladylaura Bueno '09.
