MSU Celebrates the Archdiocesan Bicentennial as a Family
On Sunday, September 23rd, the Academy of Mount St. Ursula invited to its chapel the families of students, faculty, and staff to celebrate Mass as a community of faith. Over 50 families came together to pray for a successful academic year, the school family and for the Archdiocese as it celebrates its Bicentennial.
The school, which was built in 1855, celebrated its 150th Anniversary in 2005. Mount St. Ursula is the oldest all girls Catholic high school in New York State, with a long history of involvement with the Archdiocese. As we begin the school year, we thought of no better way to celebrate our many blessings than to join together as part of the larger Archdiocesan community of faith in this anniversary year, stated the Principal, Sr. Mary Beth Read, osu.
After Mass the families gathered in the school cafeteria where there was plenty of food for all. Families socialized and walked around the 12 acre property to take pictures on the grounds and enjoy the beautiful day.
