Career Day at MSU
On Wednesday, April 23, 2008 the Academy of Mount St. Ursula held its annual Career Day for the junior class. The goal of the day was to expose the students to a variety of careers. Over 15 presenters, twelve of which were alumnae, shared their insights on which college majors would best equip them with the proper knowledge base to pursue their career choices. (read more...)

MSU Receives Silver Award
On Wednesday, March 12, 2008 the New York Blood Center held its annual high school recognition luncheon at The New York Botanical Gardens. At this awards ceremony, the Academy of Mount St. Ursula received the Silver Star Award for Participation. (read more...)

They beat Sacred Heart on Thursday, January 3rd with a score of 35 to 28. Freshmen Samira Ahmed led the team with 12 points and 4 steals. Sophomores Cecilia Gonzalez had 11 points and 6 rebounds and Adeola Okoduwa had 4 block shots, 12 rebounds and 4 points. To view the schedule click here.
Young Alumnae Reunion Brunch (2004 - 2007)
On Thursday, January 3rd at 10am, the most recent MSU alumnae were invited back to the school for a day of reminiscing, catching up and seeing familiar faces. This year the brunch was held in the school convent parlors.
Academic Excellence at MSU
On the last day of school, before the Christmas Holiday, the entire student body of the Academy of Mount St. Ursula gathered for Mass and the honors assembly. The assembly began with the recognition of second and first honor students. Overall, sixty-two students achieved first honors for the first quarter. (read more...)
Student Council Brings Christmas Cheer
Led by Student Council, this year the students and faculty of the Academy of Mount St. Ursula collected over 100 canned goods and delivered them to POTS. They collected over 80 coats and donated them to Allen Cleaners who in turn sent them cleaned and pressed to NCA Coats for Kids. (read more...)

Casino Night
On Friday, November 30th, the Development Committee hosted its big fall fundraiser: Casino Night. Members of the MSU community played entertaining casino games for chances in the Chinese auction in the parlors of the convent. (read more...)

MSU Selected for REACH Program
Because of Mount St. Ursulas overall demographics and its long-term participation and strong performance on the AP exams, the school has been chosen as one of six private schools to be part of this new endeavor. (read more...)
MSU Blood Drive
On Friday, November 2nd, the Academy of Mount St. Ursula, in collaboration with the New York Blood Center, hosted its very own blood drive in the school auditorium. In total the school donated 38 pints of blood which has the potential to save up to 190 lives. (read more...)
MSU Alumnae Return Home
On Saturday, October 20th, twenty-three Mount St. Ursula alumnae from the classes of 1989 to 2007 returned to a place they once called their second home for a daylong retreat that focused on a womans journey from adolescent to adulthood. (read more...)

MSU Celebrates the Archdiocesan Bicentennial as a Family
On Sunday, September 23rd, the Academy of Mount St. Ursula invited to its chapel the families of students, faculty, and staff to celebrate Mass as a community of faith. On Wednesday, September 19th during the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit, the Academy of Mount St. Ursula commissioned the following seniors to its Retreat Team. Samara Brown, Megan Cerezo, Stephany Cervantes, Grace Garcia, Desiree Katzenberger, Jaheliz Mohammed, Imani O'Conner, Stephanie Ortiz, Tiffany Martinez, Chardonnay McMillian, Deja Murrain, Kishma Rogers, Genelle Salazar, Carolyn Silverberg, Cindell Torres, Gabrielle Rodriguez and Natalia Olivares. With guidance from their moderators Ms. Jeanne DiBenedetto and Sr. Alice Marie Giordano, OSU, these students have elected to dedicate their senior year to the Ursuline motto of Serviam, the Latin word meaning "I will serve." Giving Back - An interview with Mrs. Dowling
A year ago, Mrs. Dowling was named president of the Academy of Mount St. Ursula in the Bronx, the oldest continuous Catholic school for girls in New York State, founded by the Ursuline Sisters of the Roman Union in 1855. MSU Upgrades its Technology
As the Academy of Mount St. Ursula welcomes its students to another academic year, it proudly launches the redesign of its school website. This redesigned website includes a "Senior Section" dedicated to information on senior class events and college research/preparation and a "Serviam" section dedicated to the Ursuline motto "I will serve." MSU Receives Over $100,000 for Masonry Repairs
The Academy of Mount St. Ursula recently received $100,000 from the Charles Hayden Foundation and $10,000 from the Hyde & Watson Foundation for masonry repairs this summer. (read more...)

MSU Seniors at UES Student Leadership Conference
On June 23rd through the 27th Danielle Chambers '08 and Deja Murrain '08, accompanied by Mr. Henry, attended the Ursuline Education Services Student Leadership Conference in Cleveland, OH. They met students from 13 Ursuline Schools and had an opportunity to join with them in many leadership activities.
