MSU Senior Named Winner


The Academy of Mount St. Ursula is happy to announce that Courtney Paul, Class of 2008 is a winner of a $2,500 National Achievement Scholarship. This achievement places her in the top 1/2 of 1% of 140,000 African-American students who took the 2006 PSAT.

Courtney is involved in a number of extracurricular activities both at Mount St. Ursula and in her community. She is currently the school yearbook editor, a member of the cultural club Umoja Dare, and a member of the Library Council. For the past four years she has participated in the Science Technology Entry Program (STEP) at Fordham University. This year she was accepted into the fall and summer session of the Health Professionals Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP) at Cornell University Weill Medical College. She also does community service work at the READ Program where she helps elementary school children learn how to read. She plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania in the fall and possibly major in Biology.
