Student Council Brings Christmas Cheer
There is a small school on the hill of Bedford Park Boulevard and Bainbridge Avenue that has a long history of family spirit and a tradition of community service. The Academy of Mount St. Ursula truly embraces these values during the holiday season with events and drives that impact the lives of students, parents, faculty and the surrounding community.
Led by Student Council, this year the students and faculty of the Academy of Mount St. Ursula collected over 100 canned goods and delivered them to POTS. They collected over 80 coats and donated them to Allen Cleaners who in turn sent them cleaned and pressed to NCA Coats for Kids.
But that's not all! Student Council rallied the school together to buy 61 presents for the children of Concourse House. Then on Friday, December 14th they held a Christmas party for the children. The girls brought snacks, played games, sang Christmas Carols and delivered their gifts in the name of good Ol' St. Nick. "The children truly appreciate the wonderful gifts received during this party. They really are the best presents they get all year," stated a supervisor of the program.
