The Library Council now meets once a month on a Tuesday. We volunteer time to shelve books during our lunch period and after school. We also organize events such as Poetry Slams, in which students take part in reading an original poem of their own or a favorite poem that they admire, and Book Signings.
Library Council Members are required to attend meetings when scheduled and to be as committed as possible. We are also expected to share and come up with ideas to improve the library and get others involved.
Being a part of the Library Council teaches one about the value of books, organization, commitment, and teamwork. It is an experience that all should have!
