Scholarships

Academic scholarships
Academic scholarships are offered to incoming 9th grade students based on the TACHS (#217) exam, if AMSU is selected as one of your three choices, and school records. There is an annual Art Scholarship and Service Scholarship offered to incoming 9th graders.

Art scholarship

If you are a gifted artist dedicated to developing your talent, consider applying for the
AMSU Scholarship for Art.

Art Scholarship Requirements:

  • AMSU listed as one of your three choices on the TACHS (#217) exam
  • A Portfolio including four samples of your artwork sent as scanned images or attached photos
    Due by mail by December 22, 2016
  • Letter of recommendation from your current art teacher (if applicable in individual school)
  • Letter of recommendation from your elementary school Principal including details on your academic performance and personal character
  • Completed personal information sheet
  • Letter of commitment signed by yourself and your parent/guardian.

Please mail your completed application packet including your letters of recommendation, signed letter of commitment, and personal information sheet to:

The winner will be selected and notified by phone before January 2017.
Please note that the awarding of this scholarship, in an amount to be determined, is contingent upon acceptance into the Academy of Mount St. Ursula.

Service scholarship
If you are a student dedicated to serving others, consider applying for the AMSU scholarship that recognizes service.

Service Scholarship Requirements:

  1. AMSU listed as one of your three choices on the TACHS (#217) exam
  2. Completion of 15 hours of service, exclusive of Confirmation service required within Catholic parishes, with appropriate verification
  3. One page typed essay describing the service you offered and a reflection on what you learned
  4. One letter of verification from the Service Site Coordinator stating the amount of hours completed
  5. One letter of recommendation from your elementary school Principal including details on your academic performance and personal character
  6. Letter of commitment signed by both yourself and your parent/guardian stating that you will embody the value of Serviam throughout four years by offering a minimum of 15 hours of service yearly
  7. Completed personal information sheet

Due date: Complete package must be received by December 22, 2016.
