B.S. in Computer Graphics and Imaging, Macaulay Honors College at Lehman College, 2010
M.F.A with a concentration in Digital Media, Lehman College, 2013
The visual arts program starts the students off with 9th grade basic art where they hone the skills and techniques necessary to accurately represent what it is they are seeing. Throughout the process, they are challenged to look critically and analyze their subject matter and their drawings to see how they can develop their work further. They learn that drawing is a skill that requires practice and discipline. For students who have done well in basic art and are interested in the digital arts, we also offer an animation course and a graphic design course. Animation students learn about creating storyboards and translating them into short films. Graphic design addresses such topics as typography, logo design, and poster design. Both of these classes teach the students to use the computer and Adobe software (Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) as creative tools.

Ms. Mulholland teaches several performing arts classes at AMSU. She instructs the entire sophomore class’ required General Music class in which they learn basic vocal technique, music notation, music history and more. They are given the opportunity to show off their vocal skills on Ring Day and in the annual Christmas and Spring Concerts. Ms. Mulholland helps to facilitate AMSU’s partnerships with the Metropolitan Opera Guild and the Theatre Development Fund. Every year, the sophomore class is invited to attend an opera at the Metropolitan Opera through AMSU’s partnership with the Metropolitan Opera Guild’s “Opera Access” program and a Broadway show through AMSU’s partnership with the TDF “Stage Doors” program.
In 2013, Ms. Mulholland began teaching the junior/senior Acting/Theatre elective in which she instructs students on a wide variety of theatre skills such as stage movement, pantomime, improvisation, scene work and much more. This class also benefits from AMSU’s partnership with the Theatre Development Fund’s “Residency Project,” an exciting program in which a playwright visits once a week to teach playwriting to this class. This weekly work culminates in the students’ plays being read by NYC professional actors in a Manhattan theater. As part of their study of playwriting, TDF includes complimentary tickets to see two Broadway/Off-Broadway shows per year.
Ms. Mulholland also teaches the junior/senior Piano Lab and Vocal Techniques electives, rigorous courses in which students learn advanced music theory, piano, and vocal technique, sight reading and performance. These class also perform in the Christmas and Spring concerts and ends their year with a individual performances of solo repertoire as part of the Arts Department Showcase.
Ms. Mulholland also musical directs the spring musical theatre production at AMSU and moderates the AMSU Vocalists, an all-female vocal ensemble made up of AMSU students who audition each year to become a member. They sing three part music from a variety of genres and perform at AMSU fundraisers and events as well as in the Christmas and Spring concerts.
In 2013, Ms. Mulholland earned a Masters degree in Educational Theatre from CUNY City College where she acquired exciting techniques to make her student’s learning experiences more fun, effective, and meaningful. She also received a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Loyola University in New Orleans, LA where piano was her major instrument and violin was her minor instrument. Ms. Mulholland has musical directed for over 50 musical theatre productions, working with actors of all ages and skill levels. Because she is from Louisiana, she loves cooking and eating both at home and in restaurants! She also enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.
